I´ve always loved menswear, since I was a teenager, and now I see how this industry is rising so fast. Beyond all those new and fantastic queer looks that I´m seeing on the runways, If I were a man I would love to have this rock-meets-preppy look. Half gentleman, half naughty man.
Last year we died for a black biker jacket... remember? And now, some of the most famous fashion bloggers are dying to wear a brown one. In fact, it´s not fall yet and they´re wearing them!! I don´t know if you have a motorbike but make sure it combines with brown.
At first we didn´t believe in denim shirts, then we tried to combine them with everything but denim and now we die for denim with denim. When you can buy a trend in every shop at every prize, that´s when it really belongs to the masses.
I saw this trend a long time ago but now it makes sense in my mind. It´s summer time, time to show more skin than clothes and this trend can make true the first part without the second one. You can show the skin that you usually hide with your shoes but also you can show what you hide in your bag. Either way, be prepare for being indiscreet.
I saw this stunning aviator jacket on the Burberry Prorsum runway for Fall and I just can´t get it out of my head. I´m just waiting for brands like Zara, Mango or H&M to copy it because I think it´s going to be a "must". As they say in the New York Subway... If you see something, say something.
The other day I had to do a presentation for my English class based on this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/15/fashion/15ROW.html?_r=2&hpw
It talks about the new and big trend of men rolling their pants so that we can see their bared ankles. I must say that I capture this trend some time ago but I was not sure about it, so I didn´t release it. So, for my presentation, I took some pics that I saw before of the famous blogger Tommy Ton in GQ magazine at the European Fashion Week's men. My research didn´t take so much time, I just remembered them. Who would not?
If there´s a woman that inspires me, that is Giovanna Battaglia, fashion editor for L’Uomo Vogue and freelance stylist. I knew her thanks to Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist and now I try to research as many looks of her as I can because, as I said in my facebook group*, she´s from outer space. So feminine, so chic, so trendy... she never wears the same outfit or at least I haven´t seen it yet. Daring sometimes, others modest but always brave. Giovanna shows lots of different personalities in her looks but she´s always there. Staring at the camera as if was easy to combine clothes the way she does and look as stunning as her. But no, it´s not. Brave Giovanna!!
